A collaboration of landscape paintings by Ann Rogan & wearable art by Tanya da Silva.
Please join Ann and I this Saturday from 2-4 for the opening of our exhibition Retrospective in Nature. (invite below)
Ann is a visual artist who truly captures the beauty of nature in her creative works.
"An awareness and love of natural environment in the landscape still continues to provide the inspiration for a great deal of my work. Painting landscape for its own sake, tapping on the mind’s eye, memories of places, sensing the sometimes vibrant elements of colour and variety of shapes found in nature and capturing light visually is the challenge and I am driven to put my interpretation of this onto canvas." - www.annrogan.com
Naturally (see how I did that) I was thrilled when Ann invited me to exhibit with her at the Bowral Art Gallery. Having taken up a last minute opportunity to exhibit our work it has been a busy three weeks of preparation.
My blurb for the exhibition:
"I have an interest in exploring ways of using traditional techniques in contemporary forms. My current practice is a combination of micro-macramé and silver-smithing that often emerges in the form of wearable art/art jewellery. Retrospective in Nature showcases works from my creative journey to date which have been inspired by nature and environmental sustainability."
Retrospective in Nature will run from the 30th of June to the 12th of July at the Bowral Art Gallery, 1 Short St Bowral. www.bdasgallery.com
