○○○ Here are some photos of rings from my second year of studies of Jewellery + Object Design at Design Centre Enmore.
Our brief was to take a concept from our first year and design a production piece using 3D printing technology.
Did you see my Wabi Sabi rings titled 'Ashore' + 'Below'?
They are the ones I chose to use as inspiration for the design these 3D printed and cast rings. Here is the link if you want to check them out:
For this series of rings titled 'Hidden' I drew sketches of my ideas and then created the design on the computer. Next I got them got it 3D printed in Nylon or wax which was then cast in silver.
The turquoise coloured Nylon rings are ones that I hand dyed and then added the freshwater pearls to.
As for the silver rings these I had to solder the pearl post after printing and casting (the post was too fine for printing) before cleaning and polishing by hand and adding the freshwater pearl.
We also did photography as part of our second year studies.. the five photos of the silver rings are ones I took during one of our classes.
I'd like to say a big thank you to my friend and classmate Ashleigh Moore for being such a great model.
Please check out her beautiful work at:
As for the inspirational images - they are from some of my adventures in Australia and Fiji. If you click on the images you will be able to see the full photo and the name of the location.
