○○○ Hi There!
I am yet to share photos of this whole series on social media but wanted to give you a sneak preview.
Here is the first necklace from the series open-minded made for 'A Chain of Events' Exhibition at Studio 20/17.
The inside layer is black nylon (salvaged during a clean up campaign) and the outside layer is white cotton. Both layers are made from a repetition of clove hitches.
I made four other necklaces for this series and will be sharing the photos on social media over the next few weeks to correspond with the exhibition duration. (see details below).
‘A Chain of Events’
15.11.16 – 3.12.16
Celebration drinks Saturday 19th November 4-6pm. Exhibition hours Wed – Sat 11-5pm
6b/ 2 Danks St Waterloo, Sydney, 2017
" 'A Chain of Events’ celebrates the continuing persistence and dedication of artists and the creative process. It brings together both contemporary jewellery artists and others working in different mediums. Focusing on NSW creatives, this exhibition invites artists to explore the concept of the chain as a personal metaphor. The chain, an element often used in jewellery has many symbolic references: a system of links used to contain, restrict or protect, a bond, a series of elements, events, reactions."
The inspirational scenic pictures were taken during our recent hike along the coastal walk in the Royal National Park.
If you haven't done it already I can't say enough how much I recommend it! Truly spectacular!!
The walk spreads from Bundeena to Otford (or vice versa) and can be done in one really long day or in the recommended two days.
I have plans write a post with more information for any interested parties to refer to before embarking on an adventure!
Health and Happiness,
